Impex Stone does not offer installation services. The best resource will be the retailer from whom you purchased the product.

We strongly advise against installing our products on wood. Plywood reacts to humidity. Regardless of the glue used, the stone may come loose from the wall. The only materials recommended for installation are sheets of concrete or gypsum.

The building code removed this requirement a few years ago for interior installations. Note that we still recommend this mesh if your project is at height. This mortar-filled mesh will protect you in the event of water infiltration on your gypsum wall.

Start with the corners, then install the stones.

Depending on the complexity of the project, allow between 5% and 10%.

Les deux ne font pas le même travail. Le mortier colle LTC (blanc ou gris) sert à coller la briquette sur le mur. Le mortier 1-1-6 sert à faire les joints entre les briquettes.

No. In fact, it’s a very bad idea. Ceramic grout, by its very name, is designed for ceramics. 1-1-6 mortar is the only mortar that should be used for brick joints.

LTC mortar adhesive is specially designed for Impex Stone products. It is the only adhesive recommended and covered by our warranty.

The only exterior adhesive is Mason Bond. Always use it for double gluing.

Since marble stones are highly porous, they should be installed using white LTC adhesive mortar. The use of gray adhesive mortar will stain the stone without any means of repair.

Lamstones are laid using Durapro AC0055. It’s very important to apply the adhesive in horizontal strokes with a notched trowel to allow air to escape during installation. Applying adhesive in spots will make your surface uneven. Applying glue in a rainbow pattern will trap air and may cause bubbles and product delamination.

Unless otherwise specified, Impex Stone products are installed with double glue. In other words, glue must be applied both behind the stone and to the wall. It’s very important to apply the adhesive mortar in horizontal strokes. Under no circumstances should the adhesive be applied in spots or rainbows. This is not an industry-recognized installation technique.

Yes, you’ve mixed the mortar perfectly. The trick is to put in a single drop of clear dishwashing soap and remix the mortar. It will come out of the cone easily. You can see this procedure in the briquette installation video.

For the coverage of each product:

One bag of LTC adhesive covers between 40 and 50 ft2 per 22.6 kg bag, except in the case of stones on mesh or masonry (interior installation). In this case, one bag covers 20 to 30 ft2.

For exterior installation, one bag of Mason Bond will cover 20 to 30 ft2.

For Lamstone installation with Durapro, 1 jar of 3.78 L will cover approximately 75 ft2.

For brick joints: One bag of King 1-1-6 will cover approximately 50 ft2 per 30 kg bag for 3/8” wide joints.

For masonry joints: One bag of King will cover approximately 35 ft2

As stated in the warranty and in the Installation Guides, an installed stone is an accepted stone, by both the installer and the consumer, even if the latter is absent at the time of installation. The best way to avoid this situation is to take the products out of the boxes yourself to create the desired effect and mix the pieces. However, don’t hesitate to contact our customer service department. We’ll be happy to advise you.

Old Bank and St-Charles briquettes are clay bricks that have been harvested from old houses. It is normal for these briquettes to bear the marks of time and installing broken briquettes will bring realism to your decor.

No. Briquettes are a decorative element and should never be washed with acid or water. The joints must be done in a clean way using the mortar cone. If mortar gets on the briquettes, wait 20 minutes and wipe with a dry cloth.

The ideal width is 3/8 to 1/4 maximum.
